International students wishing to stay in Australia at the end of their studies are encouraged to plan and apply early for their next visa.
485 Graduate (Provisional) visa . In recognition that not all international students will be eligible for permanent residency immediately after they graduate the 485 Graduate (Provisional) visa is available to give students the extra time they need to gain eligibility for residency.
885 Skilled Independent Visa This visa is aimed at International Students who have completed their study in Australia and are eligible to apply for permanent residency and can meet the points test passmark.
886 Skilled Sponsored Visa This visa is aimed at International Students who have completed their study in Australia, who are eligible to apply for permanent residency and have State or Territory government sponsorship or suitable Australian relatives to sponsor them. You must be able meet the points test passmark.
487 Skilled Regional (Onshore) In this onshore sub-category you must be sponsored by a suitable Australian relative living in a Designated Area or nominated by a State/Territory government and you must be able to achieve the points test pass mark.
476 Recognised Graduate This visa is a new temporary visa for Engineering graduates of recognised overseas universities with skills in demand in Australia.
